Adult Special Racing Events

At Grand Prix New York, we pride our facility in its ability to provide kids and adults with friendly Arrive and Drives races that satisfy the need for speed that the car enthusiast has while maintaining the worry free fun that the everyday GPNY customer enjoys. But what is available for the driver who is seeking a more competitive racing experience? Our wide array of competitive racing events provides racers not only with a perfect venue to compete, but multiple race dates and formats to choose from. Are you the type of racer who likes to be a part of a team and work as a group towards achieving the top spot on our podium? Check out some of our regularly scheduled Endurance Races. Race lengths range from 90 minutes to 36 Hours! OR are you the type of racer who likes to go it alone and take on the field by yourself? Our Iron Man races are perfect for you! No matter what time of the year it may be, it is always Racing Season at Grand Prix New York!

2012 LIKA vs. GPNY Winter Race Series 

Once again this year we will be having our Indoor Winter Race Series against the Long Island Karting Association members.  This series is open to both Junior and Adult racers, junior racers must be previously qualified through one of our camps, schools, or private instruction to participate.  To register for the series contact Chris Pricola, 914-358-3613 or chris@gpny.com .

1 Hour Sodi Iron Man - Novice

$75 - Sodi 6.5bhp Kart, $100 - Stratos 9bhp Kart, $125 – Sodi 9bhp Kart 

We offer this 1 hour Iron man event for beginner/amateur drivers on the dates offered below. This event will take place on the Super Track or Midtown track. Up to 30 drivers on track at once let’s drivers fight it out for one hour straight. Mandatory driver stops and lots of different performance karts on track make this event one of the best Competition events we have to offer.

1 Hour Sodi Iron Man - Advanced

$100 – 9HP Stratos Kart, $125 – 9HP Sodi Kart

We offer this 1 hour Iron man event for advanced drivers with karting or motorsport experience. The big difference in this race is that the only kart class on track is our 9HP fleet, making it a high speed race. Occasionally to make it more fun the track conditions may change from dry to wet. Limited to 25 drivers this event will see experienced drivers fight it out for a one hour nonstop race.

Class Description & Kart Comparison

 LMP1 class – Sodi RX7 9hp
LMP2 class - Stratos 9hp
GT1 class –   Sodi RX7 6.5hp

With our new Sodi 9bhp fleet now ready for the track we will have 3 classes to choose from for any type of Adult Competition Event.

Our LMP1 class is our fastest fleet of new 9bhp Sodi karts with lap times as quick as 55 seconds around our Super Track. For those of you more use to the Uptown track this kart can run mid 26 second lap times all day long. Our Stratos karts are also 9hp but are slightly more difficult to drive. They will give the driver a workout every time they are driven. Originally classified as our LMP1 class they are now our LMP2 class with lap times around 56 seconds on our Super Track. Finally our standard fleet of Sodi karts in which everyone will have driven already if they have raced before is classified as our GT1 class.  They are capable of breaking into the 57 second range with the right driver behind the wheel.

We look at it like this!! If you are wanting to race our new Sodi 9hp karts get yourself through one of our 2 hour mandatory training schools and register right away. This way you can go out for the overall win on any Adult Competition event. If you want a workout then go for our harder to drive Stratos karts and see if you can keep up with the LMP1 teams. If however you are up for a real challenge then we say bring your best possible drivers and drive in the GT1 class and see how many teams you can beat in the LMP1 or LMP2 class. For fun or sheer competition these ALMS Endurance events are for everyone so come along and sign up to try on. Teams must consist of 2 drivers or more.

9hp Sodi Kart Open Day, $125 per person, 4 hours of driving and qualification through our school

If you want the chance to race one of our new 9hp Sodi’s in all our up and coming Competition events this month then this is your chance.

For $125 the Downtown track will be available for open arrive and drive from 8:00pm-10:00pm. So it’s quite simple go out and drive and get back in line for the next race. We will be allowing 12-15 karts out on track at once so we are going to limit this to 30 drivers. More importantly we are offering this 4 hours of driving for $125 as a bypass for the mandatory 2 hour $250 training school so this is double the driving for half the price!

6 Hour ALMS Endurance Race

LMP1 class - $900, LMP2 class $800, GT1 class - $600

8:00am-8:30am - Final registration to ALL drivers
8:30am-8:45am - Mandatory drivers meeting and drawing of karts
9:00am-9:15am - 15 minute qualifying session
9:45am - Start of the 5 hour ALMS race

 The ALMS Endurance race consists of Stratos and Sodi karts on the Super Track at the same time. With our new Sodi 9bhp fleet now ready for the track we will have 3 classes on track to choose from. Same style as our 5 hour and 12 Hour events the 3 Hour ALMS Endurance Race is a shorter version that can be done potentially by one driver at the wheel, however teams may consist of 1-3 drivers. Different performance level karts on track at the same time and up to 28 karts on track at once provide the drivers with a real taste of close racing.
